First Holy Communion is a sacrament of initiation in which it is a person's first reception of the sacrament of the Eucharist, the true Body & Blood of Christ, who is truly and substantially present under the appearance of bread and wine. This is a significant event, as the Eucharist is “the source and summit of the Christian life.”
Our Pastorate students make the sacrament of First Holy Communion during the spring of their second grade year after intense preparation of the sacrament. Please call Nicole Casey at Aquin 852-3331 for student sign up. Please call Deacon Joe Schockemoehl at 563-852-3126 to learn more about Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
